Round 5 Preview - Pride Round

In the first home game of the year both teams take on West Newcastle - Wallsend this Saturday with the Women taking the field at 12pm and the Men taking the field at 2pm. The weekend marks the first of our special rounds for 2019 where we are celebrating our Pride Round. At the Cats we support equality in our community and LGBTIQ inclusion in sport.

There is a slight change to the poster below, jumper presentations will be at 11am and 1pm for the women and men respectively.

Women's Preview

It’s going to be a tough game with West Newcastle - Wallsend coming off two big wins, they will be confident coming out of the gates. With byes, Easter and forfeits we have only played two games so we are still cementing our structure and the way we want to play the game. Confident the girls will give it everything they have just like normal and if we keep focused on our game plan, we will do well.

Player in Focus - Jessica Newton

It's good to have her back on board this year, working hard to improve her game in the forwards but as with everyone willing to give other positions a go as we need.

Men's Preview

With a month off football the bodies are fresh and keen to get into it. Training has picked back up this week being back down on the main oval. West Newcastle - Wallsend have had a mixed start to the year but we will not treat them lightly, should be a good game this Saturday.

Player in Focus - Jimmy Adams

It's only his second year and he's really taken big steps forward. Jimmy will be a big part of our team this year and spend more time in the middle as a driving force. He's really understanding the new game plan.

This weeks preview is brought to you by the Muswellbrook Laundrette
