Muswellbrook Cats Invitational Cup

In 2015 the Muswellbrook Cats hosted their inaugural Invitational Cup.

The Cup was designed to be a way for clubs to conduct preseason trials against a number of different opponents over the course of one day in a shorted game format.

One of the key initiatives of the cup is to bring clubs from other leagues that would not otherwise meet to play against each other. This is important to the Cats having played in both the BDAFL and TAFL in the past. The hope is that clubs from more leagues come together in future years.

The Cup also helps out the winning club with $1000 in prize money up for grabs along with bragging rights.

In 2015 the Muswellbrook Cats Invited 4 clubs to participate in the cup Newcastle City Blues, Tamworth Roos, Maitland Saints and Singleton Roosters.

The day was a huge success with Newcastle City coming out winners.

The Cup will become an annual fixture for the Cats and hopefully for other clubs as well. 

Since 2015 the cup has grown bigger and better having teams from multiple leagues participate and with the introduction of a Womens competition it is one of the Cats biggest annual events.
