Invitational Cup a Huge Success

The Cats held their annual Invitational cup on the 17th March with huge success!

Several first timers made an appearance at the cup including Lake Macqurie, Warners Bay, Gosford, Newton and Wollondilly. With the introduction of a Womens cup the day was the biggest the Cats have hosted so far.

Teams traveled from far and wide to come up to the Cats litterbox and none left disappointed.

The day kicked off at 8am while many spectators where still in bed but the day drew a huge crowd with over 300 players participating throughout the course of the day.

Newtown took home the inaugural Womens championship while Warners Bay were crowned Mens champions although there were plenty of teams close behind.

Muswellbrook Cats were not so lucky on the day with both sides finishing without a win. Mens Head Coach Brian "Vocab" Scott said "It's all about trying new things, testing guys out and seeing what works before round 1 of the season. I was really impressed with th efforts of the new guys and the leadership shown by the more experienced boys."

Ken "The big man" Garland said he was also proud of his girls for putting in some big efforts in tough conditions with the mercury hitting 38.

A big shout out to all those who put in a huge efforts to get the day off the ground but especially Netty, Tracy and Donna for making the entire day run smoothly.

Bring on the season and we look forward to the 2019 cup.
